My Son is the holy land of the Cham Kingdom lying in a valley located 70km southwest of Danang. With 20 remaining towers among 70 ones in the past, My Son is the most important architectural site of the Cham Kingdom. It used to be the worshipping place for the kings and their royal ancestors. Foreign architects remarked that My Son has the same architectural value as Borobodur in Indonesia, as Angkor in Cambodia and as Pagan in Burma. My Son was recognized as one of the World's Cultural Heritage Sites in December 1999.
