Hoa Binh, 70 km southwest of Hanoi, is home to many hill-tribe people such as the Muong, the Dao and the Thai. Close to Hoa Binh is Mai Chau, a typical Thai village with its farms and huts spread out over the large green valley. Tourists will have opportunities to see these ethnic minority groups in their daily activities and will be greeted with their attractive and clean stilt houses. In Hoa Binh, tourists can find the biggest hydroelectric power plant in Vietnam, which is created by a dam on the Da River.
